## Why PADI certification
- International system: a certificate earned in Baku is valid in any country, programme and requirements are identical everywhere.
- The card is what dive centres abroad ask for. With it they issue gear, fill tanks and take you on boat dives. Without it — only an introductory dive with an instructor in shallow water.
- Card level sets depth: Open Water Diver — 18 m with a buddy, Advanced Open Water — 30 m. Specialties and professional ratings follow.
- The certification does not expire and needs no renewal. After a long break, skills are refreshed in one session with an instructor.
- Standards cover depth limits, the buddy rule, pre-dive equipment checks and equipment-failure procedures. Instructors are required to follow them, PADI monitors compliance.
